READING MONTH

19th June is celebrated as National Reading Day in India to honor the teacher, P.N. Panicker. This celebration of reading did not begin until 1996. However, it has grown into a large-scale movement over the years, with many participants rejoicing, learning, and celebrating the habit of reading.The P N Panicker Foundation and P N Panicker Vigyan Vikas Kendra have been observing the Reading Month Celebrations since 19th June, 1996, the first annual remembrance day of Shri P N Panicker, the father of Library and Literacy Movement in Kerala. Our vidyalaya is also celebrating reading month to promote the culture of reading so as to inculcate the habit of reading and promote book mindedness among school children, youth as well as the underprivileged population of the country.
